Why did you decide to get married in France?
We have such amazing memories of our last trip to France. Marcus proposed overlooking the coast in Nice and we then got to celebrate in Avignon and the south of France with family, then spent a romantic week in Paris basking in the post-engagement glow. We cannot wait to continue to make memories in this wine region in the South of France with all of you!
What is the dress attire?
The dress attire for the wedding is garden formal. For the gentlemen, ties are encouraged. Ladies, please note that the ceremony will be on a grassy area.
The attire for the Welcome Cocktails and the Send Off Brunch is casual. Let us know if you have any questions!
Will the ceremony and reception take place indoors or outdoors?
In order to maximize on our venues gorgeous grounds, we envision our day outdoors! Our ceremony will be on the chateau’s posterior lawn followed by dîner en plein air and dancing.
What is the weather like in Dordogne during the summer?
Early May in Dordogne is typically in the mid-60s to high-70s with sunny and generally dry days!
Are my children welcomed?
As much as we’d love to invite all of our friends’ children to France, we are unable to accommodate children under 5 outside of the wedding party. We hope that you will understand this decision and that you will still be able to join us on our special day.
Will you be able to accommodate my dietary restrictions?
The incredible culinary team will do their absolute best to accommodate any necessary dietary restrictions (e.g., allergies, vegetarian). We will ask you for that information when sending your RSVP (formal invitation to follow).
Where should I book my hotel?
We are not doing traditional “hotel blocks” and encourage our guests to find a place – be it a hotel or Airbnb – that best suits your individual needs and desires. This is meant to be an amazing experience for each one of you and so we encourage you to take some time searching through the many options Dordogne has to offer! Check out our travel tab for information regarding accommodation.
Where are you registered?
Your presence at our wedding is the best gift you could give us! Please do not feel obligated to purchase us a wedding gift! We do understand the desire for gifting items or experiences. Please look at our Registry page for a compilation of registries. We have also included some other “experiences” that you may choose to purchase in lieu of gifts. Lastly, we kindly ask all our guests not bring any gifts to our actual wedding day in France.
Can I take pictures of the wedding?
We thank you so much for asking! Although we understand the desire to make your own recordings of the special day, we kindly ask that everyone please put away their phones and be “unplugged” during the wedding ceremony. Please do not take videos or photos during the ceremony time. We promise that everyone will have access to view our wedding photos and video as soon as they are available from our incredible photographer, Pattie Fellows!
Although we encourage refraining the use of phones during specific times of the wedding reception (e.g., first dances, speeches), you are welcome to take photos during the reception.
